Jane Iredale Liquid Mineral Foundation is called a "skin care makeup" and is considered to be an anti-aging makeup because it contains encapsulated skin care ingredients that can replenish the cellular layers of the epidermis.

Jane Iredale Liquid Minerals are packaged in an airless pump and contains visible spheres that contain not only the minerals (mica, titanium dioxide, boron nitride and iron oxides), but also skin care ingredients (L-sodium hyaluronate acid (hyaluronic acid), Olive Squalene, encapsulate Coenzyme Q 10, Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate (Vitamins C), Vitamin K, Willow Bark Extract, Chamomile, Calendula, and Seaweeds (Algin, Agar and Carrageenan) are encapsulated in liposomes and are time-released into the skin.
The spheres are suspended in a gel of aloe vera, lavender flower water and vegetable glycerin.As the makeup is applied and worked into the skin, the body temperature breaks down the liposomes so that they can release their actives in a prolonged time-release action for the ultimate in skin health and protection. This formula has a natural pH of 6 and is so perfectly balanced that it needs no pH adjusters. It contains no chemical preservatives.
It can be applied with your fingers, a makeup sponge or a foundation brush. A dry sponge or brush will provide a fuller coverage, slightly dampen them by misting with water for a more sheer coverage. The first few pumps of each new bottle with be clear gel. Jane Iredale Cosmetics advises you to rub this into your hands. After that it will always dispense with a mousse like consistency.

Bisque: Very light with slight hint of yellow, for light porcelain, fair and light skin tones that are warm, cool or neutral - Comparable to bare Minerals's Fairly Light (porcelain to light skin/ golden undertones)
Satin: Mid-way between Bisque and Suntan. Use on someone who isn't obviously warm or cool.
Radiant: Medium with brown undertones. No yellow or pink. Good on all skin tones including Asian.
Suntan: Medium/Tan. A neutral with a very slight pink tone. Works well on cool and warm skin tones. Also use as a bronzer.
For pink undertones
Light Beige : Fair with pink undertones, for Porcelain to Fair skin colors - Comparable to Bare Mineral's Fair - Porcelain skin, pink or neutral undertones.
Natural Medium : Fair with pink undertones. Comparable to bare Minerals's Medium (medium skin/ neutral undertones) .
Honey Bronze : Medium/Tan with pink undertones. Also use as a blush.
For yellow undertones
Warm Silk: Fair with yellow undertones. Almost a universal color.
Amber: Medium Fair with yellow undertones
Warm Sienna: Medium Fair with strong yellow undertones. This also works well on Asian skins. Comparable to bare Minerals's Light (light skin/ golden undertones) .
Golden Glow: Medium with yellow/gold undertones. This is a mixture of Warm Sienna and Latte.
