I was curious about mineral makeup and didn't want to take a risk and pay a lot of $ to try and not like it. When I saw Avon had a mineral makeup line with a great price, I decided to try it. First, I ordered warmest beige as that is the color of liquid foundation I use. I found that it is much darker than the liquid foundation. It looks more like a bronzer on my skin. Second, I found that I can not use my morning moisturizer because it causes the makeup to look streaky, even if I wait 5-10 minutes before applying. I've had this makeup for 2 months now and I rarely use it. The first few attempts at applying it were terrible and I ended up washing it all off and using my normal makeup. I have since learned the technique of applying the mineral makeup (after much internet research) and still only use it on the weekends if I have the extra time to mess with it if it doesn't go on right. When it cooperates, it does look pretty good. I keep thinking if I had more time to experiment with it I could get it right. I still have trouble in certain areas getting it to look right. It doesn't settle right around my eyes - makes lines more visible. Another thing is for some reason, it always looks gray on my chin. Almost like dirt. I have to rub with a tissue to get it off. I've only worn it out in public a few times and I've never had anyone compliment me. Mostly, this makeup has been a disappointment. I also purchased a lighter mineral veil type of powder and a mineral blush at the same time. The veil doesn't seem to do anything and because the foundation is so dark, the blush shade is too light to show up. I end up using my regular blush with it. Wish I could have tried a sample first.
