When I first ordered Bare Minerals I had really high hopes for the product but it didn't quite work out as well as I wanted it to.
The good: The texture and the finish are great. It gives your face a great glow. Provided a good enough coverage to even out the skin tone but not enough to cover everything, which isn't necessarily a bad thing if you want to look natural.
The bad: I found the color choices limited. I was excited when it came with 2 colors so you can mix it up as the season changes. However, I am Southeast Asian & I found that the foundation had a lot of peachy, almost orange undertones that did not go well with my skin color which has yellow undertones. I first got the foundation around the winter time so I thought I just turned a little paler & therefore lighter that the foundation i ordered so I decided to try it again in the middle of summer but still found that it was just no match for my skin color. Also, I found the brush leaving alot to be desired. It was rough on the skin & started falling after a couple of uses.
Conclusion: I still think that mineral makeup is a great alternative to chemical ones. But like with any other foundation, you have to find a good color match. It took me 6-8 brands to find a great chemical foundation, I am now on my 2nd mineral makeup & i'm still looking for that all elusive color match.
