Bare Minerals Review: Love the look, Hate the itch!

Bare minerals also made my face itch, although I loved the look. This would be the top mineral makeup if not for that one mineral that seems so irritating to many women.

Hey Marenda -
i just read that Bare Escentuals is coming out with a Bismuth-free "matte" foundation later this year. In the mean time, here is a list of Bismuth-free foundations:

BE Skin rever upper made me itch too

I bought this thinking it would transform my dryness and dullness into a luminous supple base for the powder but like others say when you start to perspire especially around my nose it itches like crazy so much that i got those little cuts at the side of my nose which then didnt make the powder look too hot around my nose but when your skin reacts like that nothing will until its calmed down and healed. Powder only irritated on a few occasions but the only negative direct impact i viewed was from the skin reverupper vitamin lotion. The powder is actually amazing as far as how it transforms your look, i look younger and more taut and prettier. I have eczema too which is another reason i use mineral powder as it goes on well if you do it lightly on bad skin days. Others just don't match its over all finish. I've yet to try young blood and jane iredale. I find i also get less t-zone spots with this make-up.

Try changing your brushes

I also had problems with itching.....loved the look, hated the itch. I read somewhere that it might be the brushes so I switched to a different makeup brush and had no more itching.

(Note from Suzanne - some people are allergic to the animal hair used in makeup brushes & need to use synthetic brushes. Affordable Mineral Makeup has a good selection.)

I'm pretty sure it was the skin rever-upper i put on before the bare minerals, too. just a little bit of perspiration and my face itched like crazy!

I found that something I use with BE products makes me itch too, but I think it was the vitamin lotion that I put on before the powder. It especially itched when it was hot and I would sweat.
