Just tried Bare Minerals today, but had a burning sensation after application....

Just tried Bare Minerals today, but had a burning sensation on my face and neck after applying the makeup. I thought it was perhaps a sensation from the brushes and would go away, but finally, after 2+ hours, I had to wash it off. My face is still burning, but not as much. The only other time this happens is when I try to use sunscreen (except plain zinc oxide) on my face or go swimming in salt water, particularly just after showering or if I had been in the heat/sun first. I applied the makeup in the car after showering and it started burning as soon as I got out of the car into the heat.

I have always had extremely sensitive skin and in the past, I think it is the salt or chemicals from the sunscreen getting into my pores, which would be enlarged and open from the heat (shower and/or sun). I applied the new makeup today in the car just after a shower and the burning started as soon as I got out of the car into the hot sun.

I tried Physician's Formula brand of mineral makeup for a year before purchasing the Bare Min. brand, with no adverse reactions, but The Physician's Formula brand was not in the same league from an overall "look" standpoint. I hate to give up on the Bare Minerals package because I really liked the way it made my skin look.

Has anyone else had the same reaction and/or does anyone know what can be done? Any ideas?

Hi Vickie -
This much more common that you know - It is probably caused by the Bismuth in Bare Minerals or possibly your brushes if they are animal hair. Here is some more info -
