As a Liscensed Esthetician and self-described "product- junkie" I was very skeptical at first, when I tried Mary Kay's mineral makeup. I have the worst skin type which is in my opinion, highly sensitive skin, but also prone to adult acne. Most mineral makeup containing bisthmuth oxychloride scratched and irritated my sensitive skin. This is due in part to jagged and rough edges that can be viewed under a microscope and cause micro rips and irritation of the skin. This ingredient is prevalent in some mineral makeups because it is a cheap filler ingredient. Mary Kay mineral makeup did not have this which helped and also for that reason I was not left with a sheen on my face.(Bisthmuth O. is also famous for leaving behind a high shine.) The very last thing any oily gal wants! I felt matte and fresh all day! And because of the light texture I was pleased to see it did not settle into the fine lines I am beginning to experience! The mineral makeup I have worn are: Glominerals: (hard to match shades and faded quickly, with slightly grey or beige undertones),B.E.,(made skin shine and irritated it), Jane Iredale, ( too pancake like), and ColorScience( amazing sunscreen concept, however coverage way to sheer and shades off or too peachy.) Talc has never bothered my skin in the least and actually gives the product a nice glide over skin in my opinion. Also,, I don't know that Mary Kay mineral makeup is " all mineral" but it sure does what it says it will do, and having buildable coverage is nice too. Also no acne or sensitivity, and one of my very critical friends even noticed how even it made my skin look. (I have a few brown spots from old sundamage.) Not to be long-winded, but Mary Kay mineral makeup impressed myself and my critical friend. SWEET!!!! ( shade match ivory 2 PERFECT!)
