Mineral Makeup Comparison :: Avon Mineral Makeup Versus Bare Escentuals

I've been using BE for a few years. I have pale olive skin with some pinkish discolorations and dings from old acne scars and chicken pox. I initially liked BE because it was one of the few foundation products that looked fine and didn't give me pimples. I recently purchased Avon's mineral make up. I put Avon on one half of my face and BE on the other, added the Stila blusher I always use and one coating of Mineral Veil. The Avon Product, which is $10 for 18 grams (currently on sale for $8) didn't hide discolorations as well as BE. However, BE (which is $25 for 9 grams) looked unnatural and powdery in contrast to Avon's more natural look, and BE settled on my pores in a way that highlighted them, which Avon does not. Apart from the darker acne spots, both products did a fine job of evening out my skin tone.
I have noticed that BE highlights pores on other women as well. It's also a much shinier make up, whereas Avon has a more matte finish. I think I'm going to wind up using Avon for every day use, and just using BE for things like job interviews, where people shouldn't be close enough to see my pores, and expect candidates to be made up so its powdery finish won't be off putting.
(Thanks Dana for a great mineral makeup comparison!)
