Not sure what to think of Mary Kay Mineral Makeup

Not sure what to think of Mary Kay Mineral Makeup

I have very sensitive skin. Almost anything and everything makes me break out. Recently I started a new trend, and tried not wearing foundation or powder. My face looked better then ever, I never got a single break out, and I felt good. But it got old after awhile. I felt like my face was always shiny, and every little mark or red spot on my face stuck out when inflamed. I decided to try mineral makeup. It seemed to work for a lot of people with sensitive horrible skin, so why not me. The first mineral makeup I used, was Mary Kay.

After the few times I've tried using it I've always broke out into a lot of pimples. And not just small little ones, huge ones that I haven't had since my first years in high school. I'm not positive of the fact that it is the makeup, but it seems right after I apply it for a day, I always break out, and I'm very worried of using this makeup again.

I'm disappointed, I had high hopes.

I can't use mineral makeup either...
by: Christine

Just like you said... you're not sure if it's the makeup, but after using it, the next day I was always guaranteed to break out with that one large zit that you just can't cover up. Happened every time. I used it for a year.. summer and winter, on and off to see if it was just me or not, but every time I put on Bare Escentials, I would break out. I'm just not interested in trying any more mineral makeups. I didn't really care for it to begin with because the makeup would just lay in my laugh lines - I'm only 29.. they're not that bad yet, but when I would wear this superfine makeup, you noticed them. It's just not for me, but I must admit - I did like the mineral veil for the first couple of hours I had it on.. after that, the makeup would look cakey.

Mineral is the New Foundation
by: Anonymous

I am very sorry to hear about your experience with the Mary Kay mineral foundation. I am a sales director with Mary Kay and have not had a single customer break out from it, I have had some customers who just prefer liquid to anything else. However, if you continue to break out and you just want something for the overall shiny appearance of the skin, try the mineral pressed powder. Mineral foundation is still a foundation no matter what company produces it and it still meant to be buildable and show full coverage. This may just be because your skin is sensitive and I think if you aren't breaking out without foundation but prefer to change the look of the skin try the pressed it is much lighter and not meant to be a full coverage foundation. I hope you find something that will suit your needs.
