I purchased mineral makeup recently for the first time at our local Ulta store. The saleslady suggested Pur Minerals because there is no mixing of powders involved and therefore, less mess. I like the method of application of mineral makeup, but am disappointed in the color choices. Light foundation is for people with light skin, yellow undertones. Medium is for medium with pink undertones. This is the same for Bare Essentuals color selection, but what about the fair skinned person with pink undertones? Medium is too dark for me and Light is too yellow. Because I didn't want to waste my purchase, I bought Almay's Pure blends mineral makeup in fair and mix it with my Medium Pur Minerals. I cannot use the Pur minerals Bronzer that came with the starter set because it is orange on my skin. The other thing I'm disappointed with is the idea of using the same makeup as a concealer by applying more to spots that need concealing....the spots end up looking darker than the rest of the makeup on my face. And being in my forties, using the foundation as a concealer under the eye does not work at all...it actually accentuates the fine lines and looks dry, no matter how much moisturizer I apply before applying the makeup.
