Review: Bare Minerals Foundation -- the only foundation I will only wear

I am a make-up artist of 13 years. I have tried every line out there; however it was bare Minerals foundation that I was so impressed with. I am 34 and have sensitive skin with surface redness...nothing would ever cover the redness with out feeling like I was wearing a masque. I tried bare Minerals 2 years ago and my skin has never looked better. People always guess that I am in my early to mid 20's. It has helped to correct acne, smoothed out the texture of skin, removed all the redness, and looks even more natural through out the day. I use this product on photo shoots as many of the young models have horrible skin and I can feel confident that it will not create more acne for them. If you are experiencing itchiness there could be a few reasons: Mica--great for hydration but can be irritating to some clients, Kabuki Brush--if you are sensitive this brush is way too stimulating and can cause welts or burning--try switching your brush to the Heavenly Face Brush (my favorite). And, lastly minerals shift and move on your skin--the first few times I wore it and was moving around and my skin got a little warm I felt the itchiness. When I called the company they explained that it could be the shifting and moving of the minerals. After a month I did not feel the itchiness. It is a great product!!!

Usually the itching associated with bare minerals is from the bismuth oxychloride. It's a heavy metal and very large particle size. Has to be buffed into the skin. It can also lead to cystic acne after long term use. B.E.'s come out with a matte alternative. Not sure if it's bismuth free or not, but I can't wear any makeup with that ingredient in it!
