Sheer Cover Review

I have to say that I've tried several mineral makeups and several of them worked nicely. Some didn't work out at all. I'm early forties with some early fine lines and dark undereye shadows. Sheer Cover was one of the good ones though. I've met women who think that makeup looks bad if it doesn't make them look like they're wearing a mask. (It's just what they're used to) Sheer Cover does not look like that. It looks like your own skin after it's had time to melt into your skin so I can see why some reviewers wrote that they had too sheer a coverage. I thought it was pretty sheer until I had some bruising mand blemishes on my face. I simply applied the makeup and where I needed more coverage I went over it again. It all matched perfectly... you couldn't tell the difference between the parts of my face that had one or two layers. On the worste areas I applied a 3rd layer and again you couldn't tell that I had different layers of makeup on my face. It all looked uniform and all the flaws were covered. Don't expect to look "made up" with this makeup. It is supposed to make you look like you have perfect skin and a wearing little or no makeup.... and it delivers on this promise. It doesn't cake or feel dry and tight like BE does. I used to have to look in a mirror to see if I'd remember to put on my makeup because I didn't feel made up. It's also been one of the best makeups to help hide lines. I don't have to do anything special like apply a concealer or a moisturizer under this makeup. In fact, if you used a moisturizer under this makeup it could be why some reviewers said it didn't last. I was accustomed to having to wear a moisturizer underneath Aromoleigh mineral makeup and tried it with SC. It accentuated pores and didn't look as natural and became really greasy after a while. It would smudge off on clothes and be off my nose and forehead by afternoon. I always had something under my eyes to help plump the skin and hide the lines, I stopped using anything under this makeup. I didn't need it. The makeup lasted all day and part of the next and it really diminished the lines under my eyes. I get an even prettier finish if I dust with Bare Escentuals Featherlight Mineral Veil though and it also helps hide lines, etc.
